This is one product that needs no introduction, the real
question is why its taken me so long to purchase it. Well to answer that I
didn’t buy any high end makeup for a long while, like a long time… and then in
a matter of a week I was the owner of two naked palettes. Sorry not Sorry.
| outer packaging |
The packaging of the palette is sometime called a bit flimsy
and dirty. It’s a brown velour palette with gold leafing on the top that says
it was the naked palette. I know a lot of people have said that the palette get
very dirty very easily and that I can’t argue against. I store it in the
cardboard box that it came in and then in my plastic draws and some how there
is still dirt all over the palette. I have no idea how to but yeah, if you like
your makeup to be clean at all times this palette might make you a little
crazy.

The inside of the palette shows the 12 colours lined in a
row with the mirror on the opposite side of the casing.

The colours are lovely everyday brown, neutrals that I love.
The colour “virgin” is described as a nude satin colour and it is the lightest colour of the palette, now this one get a little use and the only time I do use it is a inner corner highlight on my skin as with being so pale it works very well.

The shade “Sin” is a champagne skimmer and I use this all
over the lid if I am looking for something that is a very light shimmer colour,
I have used this as a brow highlight too but again this is something I don’t
get a lot of use but its simply because I always forget to apply a brow
highlight.
The colour “Naked” is described as a buff matte and this is
the one that I use the most, this is something that I put all over my lids
nearly every time I se this palette. It is very slightly too dark for my skin
tone but it is still used by me as an all over lid colour to even it out before
applying other shadows to give them an even base.
“Sidecar” is
described as a beige sparkle. I love this colour on days that I go for a more
smokey glittery look this is the colour that gets used in the centre of my eye.
The shade is so lovely and so easy to work with.

“Buck” is a brown matte and this is the one I pair with
“Naked” on my everyday eye look if I am using this palette by simply sweeping
it though the crease to give my eyes more dimensions and I love it, again its
pigmented and easy to work with.
“Halfbaked” is referred to as bronze but I completely
disagree with that, its gold, pure and simple. It’s a beautiful colour though
for more a Christmas look, which is when I mostly use it cause who doesn’t love
a gold sparkly eye on Christmas?
“Smog” is another one of my favourites described as a golden
brown shimmer but I think this comes out more bronze it is a lovely colour with
a lovely pay off that could be used as an everyday shimmer look as it is
beautiful without looking over powered if applied in the right way.
“Dark Horse” is described as a bronze-plum shimmer, now I
don’t know about you guys but I don’t see any plum in this at all though, it
makes a lovely outer eye colour though if you are going for more of a smokey
look but still want the shimmer too… this is in my normal night out eyeshadow
routine when I get to use it.

“Toasted” is said to be a taupe-bronze, and I can say that
but mostly it comes off on my skin copper, which makes a beautiful eye look
with a simple pink lip.
“Hustle” is described as a mocha shimmer and its one is
another lovely outer eye look but I normally blend just a little bit on my
outer crease to add that little bit more of a smokey look.
“Creep” is a near black metallic shade and that is pretty
bang on description, because it is slightly not black. I reminds me of an old
live XXL hair colour that was so close to black but in certain lights looked a
very dark blue and this is the same but with a little bit of blue shimmer in
it.
“Gunmetal” is described as a dark grey metallic and again
that exactly what it is, and what I use it as, it’s a lovely outer eye colour
again it just depends on the eye look you are going for whether this will work
for you or not.

The pigmentation of these shadows is immense though, I can
not rate them highly enough and words just don’t come close enough 15/10 for
pigmentation.
The application of all of these is lovely too, you just need
to know the right type of brush with all the shadows so for example if you
apply “Sidecar” with the fluffy brush it goes everywhere, however if you apply
it with a flat shader brush it works very well. The only one I find a great
deal of fallout from is creep but keep a brush handy to swipe it off and you
will be fine.
Overall this palette is pretty damn amazing, the price point
may look steep when first considering the product but after using it I would
say it is well worth the money if you need a brown/warm palette. There is
literally only one bad point about this palette and as mentioned before it
simply lies in the packaging and how dirty it gets but if you don’t care all
that much about that this palette is perfect and by far my favourite high end
palette if not my favourite palette of all time.
You can buy the product here
Until next time...
Love Kim x
