With liquid lipsticks storming the makeup world keeping your lips in good shape is essential. Those lipsticks you love with the ultra matte formula's often emphasise all the dry patches on the lips leading to you needing to exfoliate your lips. Now I love my Lush Sugar scrub but sometimes its just makes a mess with sugar particles going everywhere and it's definitely not something that I can use with a full face of makeup on, so when I saw the body shop lip scrub came in more a traditional lipstick shape I knew I needed to try it.

The body shop website says that the stick gently gets rid of dead skin cells to give softer moisturised lips. The best way to use it I have found is to apply it like a lipstick, but you don't have to be so precise, and leave it on for 1-2 minutes before removing it with a tissue. The product is in infused with peppermint oil and it should be noted that you can smell the mint scent as soon as you open the tube so if that's something that bothers you I wouldn't purchase this product. I love the fact that I can feel the exfoliating beads working their magic on my lips but I am burning through the product so quickly! The tube contains 2.5g and every application seems to take so much product out of the bullet and for £8 its a little pricey to last only about 15 uses (in my case anyway).

The scrub does work and leaves my lips feeling lovely and soft and is much more on the go friendly than my lush lips scrub but it just doesn't do the job as well. The slightly cost-y price tag is a major con as is the fact that the product doesn't last me long. The final verdict is that honestly I would rather use a lush lip scrub, which lasts much longer and although is slightly more expensive is much cheaper price per use and just seems to work better.

Till next time...
