The Balm Mary-Lou Manzier

Way back when superdrug had first started to stock The Balm I went running to my nearest store to pick this up, it was sold out for months and every time they got it in it would sell out before I got there but one fateful day I got my hands on it and I was so happy that I practicly danced home to try it, did it live up the hype though?

Outer packaging

The packaging is beautiful and funky, as is most things from The Balm, showing a lady in a line up kind of setting with some pretty funny comments. The product is multi purpose, it says so on the front, boasting that it can be used as a highlighter, shimmer and an eyeshadow. The powder its self is in a plastic pan secured with a clip with a mirror on the other side of the compact.

Inside the compact
This highlight is stunning, although if you don’t like that “POW!” Nikkitutorials kind of look then you might need to be super careful with this one when applying it as it is super pigmented but looks beautiful on the tops of the cheekbones. I helped make my face look so much fuller and healthier with a single sweep across my face. I normally wear this on days I have matte bronzer on and a matte, or very lightly satin blusher otherwise it’s a little much for everyday wear for myself.

product swatched on the back of my hand

It cost £17 but comes in a 8.5g container and because it is so pigmented I use this at least 3 out of 7 days a week and I haven’t hit pan or even really made a dint in it dispite having this for nearly 5 months.

So if you need a highlighter that you are okay spending a little more on and you like that disco ball, shimmer look this one is for you, as I said though if you need a subtle highlighter this is still beautiful you just have to b slightly more reistrained when using it but it is a beautiful product and I world recommend it to anyone.

You can buy the product here.

Until next time…

Love Kim X
