Colourpop Ultra Matte lipsticks *Review and swatches*

So as part of my colour pop haul I got some of the ultra Matte lipsticks, I bought some other stuff too but I ended up splitting this post because of the sheer amount of them that I bought, like I went a little crazy because I knew chances were I was never going to order from them again so theres a few to get through.

Full size ultra Mattes
Now all of the full size lipsticks cost me $6 which works out at about £4.50 which isn't bad at all. I also bought a set of the minis for $18 which is about £13.50.

First of all lets talk about the formula and then I will get into the swatching.
There are an awful lot of shades in this range and they are very cheap, but do they act like cheap lipsticks? No, no they do not. The formula of these is amazing. The are very Matte and dry down very fast so you need to work fast with them. On the lips they feel very weightless and almost powdery but they are very very drying on the lips, not uncomfortably so but you will need to exfoliate before wear and apply a lip care item afterwards. They have no smell and no taste which is a very good combination.

The applicator on these is a doe foot applicator which is quite easy to work worth and this is coming from someone who is not great at applying these products. I find these last about 6-8 hours on me before they need retouching, the started to fade slightly in the centre of the mouth after about 6 hours but with the nuder colours that might not mean you need to retouch straight away.  Fair warning to get these babies off you will need some serious cleanser, they do not like to come of easily so you should use an oil based cleanser as thats what I have found works best.

But now into the swatches.
Fair warning the ones on my lips are really bad swatches, my lips were in a bad way and the lipsticks just wouldn't go where I wanted them to at all but thats all my fault in my sucky application not the lipsticks.

'Midi' is described as a 'soft natural beige' it is a very light shade and is defiently the lightest I would go, it is a very cool pink shade.

'Bumble' is described as a 'dusty warm terracotta' its a warm pink brown and its a lovely shade, one of my favourites out of the bunch and a lovely every day kind of shade.

Beeper is a described as a warm mid toned taupe... although I disagree with this because to me this is brown, I bought this based of swatches and this is nothing like swatches online, its simply brown and I don't like it on my skin tone at all but oh well... you live and learn I guess.

Mars is described as a red fusia and is stunning, I love it I just wish I was going places enough to wear it.

Bad Habit is a described as a dusty mauve pink and will again make a stunning autumn colour with its slightly darker looking undertones. Its another one that I love.

The little mini lipsticks came in a set called 'foxy' so I thought I show these ones a little separately.
I recieved 5 lipsticks in this collection but unfortantly one was 'beeper' so I haven't bothered swatching that one for you as its in the sections above.

'Clueless' is a lovely everyday shade on me, described as a dusty mauve pink it dries well and doesnt crumble at all on me, as I have read in some reviews that it does, but it simply wasn't a problem with me.

The colour Tulle is a strange one, its described as a 'dusty mauve burgundy' and its lovely but its much darker on the lips than it appears on the tube, its a very beautiful slightly bolder autumn lip in my opinion but still the kind of colour I will wear.

More Better is a deep violet wine colour and is again stunning as a winter/autmun lip, its dark berry red and just *swoons*

Creeper is a your classic bright red with blue undertones, the staying time on this one is great and it again will probably get a lot of wear.

I must say I really like these, they are good quality for money and the formulas are good... maybe even a little too good with how hard they are to get off. The normal rule for liquid lipsticks does apply with these though, the darker the colour the better the wear time but I have found that to be the case for nearly every single liquid lipstick regardless of brand and price. But for the money for these you really can't go wrong and I would suggest picking these up but I would defiently order a lot at a time to save on the shipping costs.

You can pick them up here.

Until next time...
Love Kim x
