Birchbox October

Well its that time of the month again where birchbox sends me a beautiful box full of new products for me to try and test out. This months box took into account when my birthday was and issued me a box design based on that but there was no theme around the products in the box so lets jump straight into it.
All product in the box

Inside the box this month to start off with was a Lord&Berry lip product in the form of their maxi crayon in the colour "intimacy" it is a lovely Mauve colour and has a very matte finish but it's not uncomfortable like other matte lip crayons I own. It does show up every bit of dry skin on your lips but to be honest I can't think of any matte finish lipstick I have that doesn't do that so its all about the preparation I think before applying this one. It is a beautiful colour though and I can see myself wearing it a great deal now the months have turned colder.

The box also had in the Doux Me pure spring mist which to me is a bit of a bust and I have no idea why they would include it. If this has appeared in a summer time box I would have understood as the refreshing mist would have been quite nice, however in autumn/winter I can not think of anything I want to do less than spray myself in the face with what is essentially water in an aerosol can.

Next in there was Whish Mud Mask in the the beginning terrified me to use, as it says to only use it for 15-30 seconds the first time which scared me to put something that what I assumed to be strong on my face. The product is a mask and facial scrub mixed into one and is made of all natural products. Now I only left this one for about 45 seconds and it was okay on me, my skin was baby smooth and I did not have any redness. But I would say to give this a miss if you have sensitive skin as I know so many people who have used this after receiving their box and their face has gone very red and irritated after using this so it is something to bear in mind.

Birchbox seem to have a deal with Rituals as there seems to always be a product by the brand in my box every month. This time I received the "the ritual of sakura magic touch body cream" now this I do like, it sunk into my skin fast and did not leave me feeling greasy as well as hydrated my skin well and smells amazing on the skin, to the point I came downstairs after my bath and my boyfriend even told me I smelled nice, which he never does, so it is a lovely scent. I was happy to receive this in my box and this was a big win for me.

Number 4 Fluoro elixir restore & repair oil made me all excited as it claims to help manage frizz but honestly this seemed to make my hair worse, although it does not make it greasy or sticky as I have found some hair oils do I can not say that I found this to work, my hair felt dry and brittle after using it in a way it hasn't for a while so safe to say this will be being passed along.

The final product in the box was the bodyism beauty supplement, now in all honestly to you I haven't tried this, I am very sensitive about teas and things like that and I honestly just don't want to try it, sorry for that but its one thing I am super picky on.

This months birchbox was a bit of a mishmash of good and not so good products, I am kinda disappointed in this box and I am thinking of cancelling my subscription after this 6 month section... if I remember to at least.

You can sign up to birchbox here

Till next time...
Love Kim x
