MAC Mineralise Moisture foundation

MAC is somewhere that I normally just buy lipsticks from not going to lie to you all, but when I was there recently I asked if they do a foundation shade to match my face, with it being an almost corpse like colour this is sometimes hard. She pointed me towards this foundation after talking about my skin type for quite a while.
Now MAC on the website claims this to be
  • Long-wearing
  • Provides instant and long-term hydration
  • Immediately blurs lines and wrinkles
  • Provides instant radiance
  • Provides stay-true colour
  • Offers broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 15
  • Dermatologist tested
  • For all skin types, including sensitive skin

But did it hold up to its claims?

Firstly the packaging while very expensive looking has a major flaw for me, the product is held in a glass bottle. For most people this wouldn't be an issue but for someone as clumsy as myself it adds an air of anxiety to me every time I pick it up. The pump however is amazing and gives just the right amount of product in one pump for a light coverage and enough in 2 for a light-medium coverage.

This foundation comes in 18 shades so there is a great deal of choice for everyone and it works very well on my combination skin, I must say though I think in the summer months this will not be great just due to the instant 'radiance' that it does seem to give with it not being a matte foundation and I can also guess that in the summer the added hydration factor will also lead to a lot of oil but at this point I am just guessing.
It does seem to be long wearing though, I can wear it for a full 8/10 hour day and still have product on my face by the end, it also doesn't seem to break me out which is an added bonus.
Now the price point of £29 is not cheap by any means especially for 30ml's but I must say I do like this and in the winter months where my skin was dry and dull looking it did help moisturise through the day whilst giving me a more healthy glow.
The formulation seems to be very good, it seems to blend very well onto my face with a beauty blender and doesn't seem to settle into lines, as well as it being a good colour match. It does darken slightly as it drys on the skin but not enough to even say it changes a shade, unlike many drugstore foundations I have used.

I would/will repurchase this when it runs out but I think for the summer I will need to hunt for something with more oil control.
