NYX haul!

Way back in October Boots UK started to stock NYX cosmetics, and I put off and put off buying them, hoping that they would decide to come to a store in the North East, apparently that hope was in vain but very recently I gave in and placed a £50 order with themselves and naturally I just had to share with you what I got. Now a quick note first and unfortunately it is a negative one, although once my order was in I received the product in 3 days (and one of those days was a Sunday) I was incredibly unimpressed with how the products were packed they were simply in a bog standard lightly lined envelope, there was no extra padding or bubble wrap. Now I found this really disappointing, I think if I had been ordering mostly powder based products they would have smashed in transit, luckily I only ordered one and it came intact but yeah, I was slightly disappointed on that front... Now onto the products!

So lets start with the concealers, I bought 2 in the lightest colour that NYX makes, I bought the Dark circles corrector and the above and beyond full coverage concealer. Now my past history with con clears isn't good, everyone I have tried has either dried my skin out too much or has made it too oily, or on the odd one where I have found that the texture is good the consistency has been pants. Now I have only been using these a couple of days, they all came Monday afternoon, but so far they seem to work okay, they are easy to apply and easy to blend, the seem to cover pretty well and the colour correction in the dark eyes corrector seems to work just as well as any other type of colour corrector I have used under my eyes previously.
Packaging of the colour corrector

As you can see it has quite a peachy hint to it which helps fight
the darkness of my insomniac dark eyes which are always a joy to
try and cover.

A lovely light colour that seems to blend in well for normal concealer
Packing is cute and to the point, nice and compact to store too.

Now I was told to buy this so many times I couldn't do a NYX order and not buy it, and that is the Tame and Frame tinted Brow pomade, I was always an eyebrow pencil kinda girl and was using one from Rimmel previous to this but I feel I may be convert to pomade life. It hold your brow in shape so much better and seems easier to apply then pencil, which I was defiantly not expecting.  If you are gonna get this don't freak out when you first open the product about how dark the product is like I did... I was a little bothered when I first opened it that I was gonna end up looking like I had tried to draw my eyebrows on with a sharpie but after getting rid of the top layer of product I found it to be a nice easy product to apply, and to prove it I took photos of my first attempt at using it.
I mean I'm not saying they are amazing but they still look like eyebrows rather than slugs which is good in my book.
Now these next 3 products were done on suggestions from other bloggers, the lip primer and eye shadow base seemed to come up in top 10 NYX product lists from bloggers again and again and must agree I pretty much love them, the eye shadow base is so easy to apply and makes the colours of my eye shadows look much better as much as making them stay on much longer. The lip primer is also a god send, not only does it keep product on longer, but also helps get rid of creases and fine lines as well as moisturising lips, which lip jackets and things just don't do, safe to say I'm in love. The third product bought on recommendation was the NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk, this is just a completely white pencil and I bought it after Mykie, of GlamNGore fame who I really suggest you check out , raves on about it and uses it in so many of her looks. I don't feel like I can review it though as apart from the swatch just below I haven't used it yet.
Swatch of NYX jumbo eye pencil in Milk.
After seeing photos of my good friends new NYX prismatic shadows I just had to have one, this is he shade bedroom eyes and I was defiantly not disappointed, its an amazingly pigmented, shimmery, easy to blend dream, its so comfy to have on my eyes and I think the swatches speak for themselves, also the packaging is adorable with the little bow on the side as a catch. I will defiantly be getting more of these the next time I buy from NYX.
Such cute packaging!

Swatch in super bad artificial light.

Slightly better swatch in natural light.
Now my last two products are both soft matte lip creams, this seem to have developed a cult following, they are so nice to have on the lips and there as so many shades to pick from it took me hours, but I finally bought Milan and Stockholm. The pigmentation is a little hitty missy though as I found that they seemed to show pigmentation on my hand much better than on my lips, I will post lip photos at a later date on my instagram but right now I am suffering, as mentioned in the last post, from really bad dry skin on my cupids bow and its bright red which means all the colour look really different in comparison. Another thing to bear in mind with these lip creams is that the colour in the bottle is completely different to whats on the bottle so look at swatches in depth first before buying to make sure you don't end up with a nasty surprise, of example Milan is much brighter than it appears on the bottle, but the shade is still lush so its okay.
Top is Stockholm and bottom is Milan
I will definitely be buying from NYX again, the only thing that makes me hesitate despite how stupid it sounds is the crappy packaging, as smashed eye shadows go everywhere! But anyway good products good price and to get all this for £50 I can't go wrong, I'll leave a link below to take you to there page on boots.co.UK so you too can go a little crazy,
