Makeup revolution redemption palette romantic smoked *review and swatches*

Makeup revolution is a brand I will be talking about again and again on here, after a very good friend recommended them I started somewhat of an obsession, which spiralled into a £40 haul (which is a lot of make up from a brand where their highest priced eyeshadow palette is £8). This product though was gifted to me by that same good friend for Christmas although features on their websites and in superdrugs for £4. The Romantic Smoked palette is described as "A perfect mix of pearl, Shimmer and Matte Shades. totally collectable and a pure sellout".

The shades come in a combination of 6 shimmer and 6 matte. All have good payoff and are very pigmented, they are very blendable so much so that actually stopping it from ending up in your eyebrow is an issue I came across when using it to make my eyelook for the day. The shimmer shades have such a shine to them, the photos just do not do them justice, when the light hits they shine like a bloody disco ball.

(also say hi to Sheldon, the adorable dog hiding in the photo)

Now I confess I am in no way a makeup artist and I like bed too much on a morning to spend an hour trying to get my eyeshadow even, or trying to do a cut crease, I did venture out last night though to a local pub and thought I would try a bit of a more technically difficult look than my normal "ahh it will do"

I have very little makeup on in these photos bar the eyeshadow due to a really bad patch of dry skin just above my top lip which means wearing foundation and such is just a no go at the moment. But as you can tell even with my beginner abilities I still managed to make a lovely brown and pink smoky eye using a mixture of both matt and shimmer shades, the high blendablity and pigmentation of these shadows can't be faulted, and it's why I keep coming back again and again to makeup revolution, its like having an urban decay palette with a much more affordable price tag.

One small downside with this palette is that the fallout in the shimmer shades causes a slight issue, it's not unmanageable but does mean that clean up under the eyes is needed and I wouldn't use this palette after putting on a black dress but I really really do like this palette and for someone like me who likes a softer looking smoky eye the colours are perfect.
